Attention All Snappers .... Make sure you are
at the Atlanta training session on Sunday. We have a new snapping coach.
Former Georgia Bulldog, Ty Frix. Any kicker and punter can bring their
snapper or a snapper that they know of for a FREE session this Sunday !!
Here is a little background on Ty Frix .....
Ty graduated a semester early from high school and walked onto the
University of Georgia Football Team in 2008. After redshirting that
year, he took over as the starting longsnapper and served as such from
2009-2012. He started all 54 consecutive games of his career, more than
any other player in UGA history, and played on two SEC Eastern Division
Championship teams. As a senior he was voted Special Team’s Captain by
his teammates.
During
his time on the field, Ty was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll every
year. He was awarded the Iron Man Award for never missing a workout, class or
practice 3 out of 5 years. He was given the Victor’s Club distinction every
year for outstanding performance on the field. He was also the recipient of the
Dick Copas Leadership Award, Joel Eaves Scholar Athlete Award, Peach of an
Athlete Award, and was featured as a UGA Amazing Student. One of his highest
honors was being chosen as an Academic All-American his senior year.
Ty
was awarded a scholarship after his Sophomore season, graduated in Bio-Medical
Engineering after his Junior season, and began his Master’s of Business
Administration as a Senior. He is now in his last year of his Master’s degree
at UGA.
Ty graduated from Calhoun High School in
2008 where he was the Senior Class President, Valedictorian, and Captain of the
Football Team. He is also a Licensed Private Pilot and a certified Scuba Diver.
