Phil Steele Tabs Three Gators as Preseason All-Americans
Senior Kicker Caleb Sturgis, a 2011 Lou Groza
Award Finalist, was named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-American First Team. Sturgis
went 22-of-26 in 2011 with a long of 55 yards. He ranked third in the nation in
made field goals and also ranked third in field goal makes per game with 1.7.
Additionally, the senior kicker was one of only two kickers in FBS to have made
three field goals of 50-or-more yards.
